What do I need to register?

• Identification (passport or driving licence)
• An up to date CV in electronic format, to be emailed to recruitment@tempsiom.com
• Proof of Address (a utility bill no older than three months old)
• References or name & email addresses of two work related referees (if you have no work experience please provide educational referees).
• Previous Payslip (if applicable)

What Companies do Tempsiom deal with?

Tempsiom has a broad range of clients largely finance sector based, although we also offer assignments with clients in retail and the public sector.

Do I have to attend an interview?

You do have to attend an interview. Initially, you will meet with a consultant from Tempsiom to discuss your needs, requirements and other matters concerning temporary work.

Often our clients also wish to meet candidates in advance of work allocation, but this is usually more informal than that of an interview for a permanent role.

There are occasions where the candidate will not be required to sit an interview and will start work solely upon on our recommendation.

When and how do I get paid?

All of our working candidates are paid weekly.  You will be paid directly into your bank account.

Candidates are entirely responsible for completing & submitting their timesheet online no later than 9.30 am on the Friday of every week worked. Once you have completed your timesheet online it is important that you contact your line manager and ask them to log on to www.tempsiom.com and approve the hours worked.

If timesheets are not completed & client approved by 10.00 am, you may not receive payment until the following week.

If I am undergoing a Temporary assignment, will this affect my chances of gaining full-time employment?

No, if you are temping with Tempsiom whilst registered with Search & Select for permanent work, our team of permanent recruitment consultants will continue to consider you for permanent opportunities.

We often find that temporary roles end in permanent job offers!

Holidays

From changes effective from the 30th September 2007, the Employment Act 2006 introduced greater rights for Temporary Workers, whether introduced through a recruitment agency or directly engaged with a company. The Employment Act gives a right to a minimum of 20 days paid holiday entitlement per year (Bank holidays can count towards the entitlement). This entitlement is pro rata for part timers.

If I am sick, do I still get paid?

Temporary workers are not entitled to pay in respect of sickness.

What do I do if I am sick and cannot attend work?

In the event that you are unable to attend work due to illness, injury or other reason you must contact our office on Tel: 678142, as well as your temporary employer out of courtesy before 8.45 am on the day. This will enable us to arrange alternate cover if necessary.
